1atatime Rescue is based in and around the lower mainland with volunteers all over BC and Alberta. Our main focus is rescuing mainly small dogs from high kill shelters in and around Louisiana but we do occasionally rescue medium breed dogs as well as some cats/kittens if we have foster homes available. Most of these animals are given less then 48 hours to get rescued or adopted before the shelter is forced to gas them due to high volumes of animals in the shelter.

There is a high demand for small dog adoptions in and around Vancouver but not a large supply of small dogs in and around BC. Unfortunately this is not the case in Louisiana and their shelters are filled with small highly adoptable dogs. Since their shelter numbers are so high this usually means imminent danger of euthanasia.

By pulling dogs from these shelters and bringing them here to BC we hope to allow people the adoption option of a small dog rather then them turning to a bad breeder or a puppy miller. So our rescue groups pulls what dogs we can from these shelters, takes care of any veterinary needs the dog may have including a mandatory spay or neuter before placement. Then the dog begins its search for its new forever home with the help of 1atatime volunteers.

We have many wonderful and caring rescue contacts in and around Louisiana that count on us to help them reduce the number of adoptable animals killed in these shelter. By donating you will be helping us pay for veterinary bills, boarding fees, as well as the cost to ship the animals here to BC.
