ACTIVE MOUNTAIN RACEWAY No single sport evokes the passion and worldwide following that Motor Racing does. Motorsports events now draw the largest attendance of sporting events around the globe. The specifically created property zoning allows for the construction of a truly world-class Motor Racing Facility to anchor Active Mountain Resort. The 4.1km (2.6 mile) hypermodern racing circuit winds gently through a natural landscape in the beautiful Nicola valley, blending into the magnificent natural countryside filled with thousands of trees and millions of beautiful wildflowers amidst the rolling green hills. It provides the perfect combination of contrasts for racing and relaxation. MOTOR RACING FACILITY
The motor sports complex is currently under construction and is planned to commence full operations in 2006. This unique Canadian venue will feature top North American racing events, as well as high-profile live concerts and sporting competitions. The combination of a world-class facility, the natural beauty of the location, the popularity garnered from the renowned annual Merritt Mountain Music Festival, the 12 million people target market, ease of accessibility and the year-round clement weather will insure AMR’s future success. Active Mountain Raceway is poised to become Canada’s premier multi-faceted outdoor motor sports entertainment venue.

At the Track visitors can experience the modern race circuit, which has been designed to meet FIA regulations. This challenging course allows for very high average speeds and is designed to provide options for different track combinations, making it suitable for a wide variety of vehicles, events and activities, programs and technical tests. Natural safety and observation banks have been created around the track to provide excellent viewing, limit sound disturbance, and to enhance the overall motor racing experience. The school focuses on the needs of street driving and is dedicated to enhancing a driver’s skill, confidence and safety while driving in any situation. Students learn the importance of smoothness in steering and pedal input, as well as practicing skid correction, emergency braking and lane change maneuvers. Whilst learning different racing techniques at the Active Mountain Racing School, guests can learn to drive different sports racing cars and the numerous types of vehicles including off road, rally, and ATVs. Safety is the most important consideration borne in mind by the highly qualified instructors. Indeed, the entire AMR team is continually at work to ensure your safety in the extremely exciting and challenging sport of motor racing.
