Advocate and lobby for funding
for income generation projects for the child-headed families
(vegetable gardens, poultry, piggery etc.)Mobilise the business
community in the country to provide food, medicines, toiletries
and clothing for orphans.Actively participate in the food distribution
programmes in villages by Food Management Unit (FMU) or/and
Disaster Management Services

Establish strategic partnership
with Ministry of Education, Department of Social Welfare, Food
Management Unit and Food and Nutrition Coordination
- Facilitate the creation
of community support groups.Promote the concept of community
home based care (CHBS) with particular emphasis on
children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. Conducting
training needs assessment (TNA) for CHBC; In collaboration
with other partners, train support groups on CHBC, psychosocial
support, inheritance, HIV/AIDS and issues of orphaned
and vulnerable children.Community leaders chiefs (Princpal and gazetted) and MPs spouses sensitization
workshops continued.Community support groups trained in development
planning.Put in place systems that will enable support groups
to learn from one another.Engage and lobby external stakeholders
to support community support groups initiatives.Seek
funding partnership and services providers to enable implementation
of support groups projects and initiatives.
- Assist in setting up "safe
house" for children in villages, for psycho-social
support.
- Establish a data bank on
all activitie aimed at supporting and caring for children
in Lesotho.Acquaint OFL with policy and legislation on
cildrens
issues and advocate for enforcement of same.Participate in
all conventions aimed at promoting childrens rights
locally and internationallyEstablish networks with all First
Ladies offices. Publicise the laws and conventions
on childrens rights and issues.
- Advocate and lobby for
the establishment and enactment of the National Childrens
Commission.
