crucial sites that I (the webmaster) have
collected over the years and ones in which
I use all the time.I am passing them on so
you can utilize them on your machines

I have also included links to SpyWare detectors
and Firewalls that I think are useful.
If you have any other sites that you think
should be included in this list, please
email them to me and I will post them
to the list.
Also, all the software I have linked you to
is either free or has a try vefore you buy
policy. But free for the majority of them.

As part of Microsoft's Strategic Technology
Protection Program, and in response to direct
customer need for a streamlined method of
identifying common security misconfigurations,
Microsoft has developed the Microsoft Baseline
Security Analyzer (MBSA). Version 1.0 of MBSA
includes a graphical and command line interface
that can perform local or remote scans of
Windows systems. MBSA runs on Windows 2000
and Windows XP systems and will scan for missing
hotfixes and vulnerabilities in the following
products: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows
XP, Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0
and 5.0, SQL Server 7.0 and 2000, Internet
Explorer (IE) 5.01 and later, and Office 2000
and 2002. MBSA creates and stores individual
XML security reports for each computer scanned
and will display the reports in the graphical

that scans your memory, registry and hard
drives for
known spyware and scumware components and
lets you remove them safely. It is updated
frequently.

Undeniably one of the best (and free) spyware
detectors. http://www.lavasoft.de/
Spybot
Search and Destroy http://beam.to/spybotsd Some say this is even better than the
above mentioned Ad-Aware. I have tried both
and agree.
But I think they are both extremely good products
and are always kept up to date. Read a review
