The Decision to PurchaseWorking with a Real Estate Licensee Responsibilities
of the Listing Responsibilities of the Seller |
Complaints about a LicenseeWhat to do....What should you do if you have a complaint about the conduct of one of the agents involved in the transaction? If a problem or misunderstanding arises between you and an agent which you are unable to resolve by discussion with that agent, there are steps you can take:
The Real Estate Council of British Columbia can investigate any written complaint about the conduct of a real estate licensee in their handling of your real estate transaction. The Council is authorized to discipline a licensee found guilty of wrongdoing. It should be noted, however, that the Council does not have the authority to require a licensee to perform under the terms of a contract, nor can it award damages to a complainant from a licensee. Those matters may require legal action. |
