MEDITATIONS

Reading:

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Prayer:

Lord, somehow in this time of loss and focused as I am on the present, I catch a glimmer of the eternal. Please help me to see with confidence what you are showing me right now.

Response:

Imagine yourself flying above in an open cockpit through thick clouds. Every minute or so you see that sea below you, a ship plying its way across the open expanse, ripples form at a 45 degree angle from the bow. As quickly the clouds fold in and you are once again flying blind.

Those brief openings allow you to gauge your position and altitude. In the clouds time seems to slow as the motor groans louder or more silently as the dense clouds and wind from the propeller alter the sound.
